Description:
SCYC51010 is designed as ABB firing unit card. The firing unit controls an anti-parallel connected 6-pulse thyristor bridge. Firing pulses are synchronizedto line voltages. A firing pulse is given simuitaneously to two thyristor modules. Thyristor gate pulses aregenerated by separate pulse amplifiers in the thyristor module.
Firing unit is connected to Vector control computer with bus adaption board SCYC 51040. Firing unitboard SCYC 51010 and synchronizing board SCYC 51020 contain logic for reading of data bus, bridgeselection and for controlling and releasing of firing pulses. SCYc 51010 and SCYc 51020 control togetheione antiparallel connected thyristor bridge or one excitation thyristor bridge. They send firing pulse signalsand pulse releasing signals separately to all six module boards of one phase unit. Firing pulses to thyristoigates are generated by pulse amplifiers located in each thyristor module.

SCYC51010 sends positive and negative bridge firing pulse controls (56 kHz square-wave) to the PhaseControl Board SCYC51100. The length of the firing is approximately T/3 i.e. 5,6 ms in 60 Hz network.Module boards SCYC51 11 1 sends firing pulses to thyristor modules. Triggering pulses to thyristor gatesare generated by pulse amplifiers on each module. Triggering is inhibited if thyristor anode voltage isnegative or when +15V auxiliary voltage has dropped to +12V, Vector control is then ordered by themodule board's PAOK signal to prepare to smoothiy stop the drive.
