Description:
4351B is Triconex Communication Module. 4351B contains two network ports—NET 1 and NET 2. 4351B has two copper Ethernet (802.3) ports. It NET1 and NET2 support the TCP/IP, Modbus TCP/IPSlave/Master, TSAA, TriStation,SNTP, and Jet Direct (for network printing) protocols. NET1 alsosupports the Peer-to-Peer (UDP/IP) and Peer-to-Peer Time Synchronization protocols.

The Tricon Communication Module(TCM), which is compatible with onlyTricon v10.0 and later systems, allowsthe Tricon to communicate with TriSta-tion 1131, other Tricon or Tridentcontrollers, Modbus master and slavedevices, and external hosts overEthernet networks.Each TCM contains four serial ports,two network ports, and one debug port(for Triconex use).Each serial port is uniquely addressedand can be configured as a Modbusmaster or slave. Serial Port #1 supportseither the Modbus or the Trimble GPSinterface. Serial Port #4 supports eitherthe Modbus or the TriStation interface.Each TCM supports an aggregate datarate of 460.8 kilobits per second, for allfour serial ports.

A single Tricon system supports amaximum of four TCMs, which mustreside in two logical slots. DifferentTCM Models cannot be mixed in onelogical slot. Each Tricon systemsupports a total of 32 Modbus masters orslaves—this total includes network andserial ports. The hot-spare feature is notavailable for the TCM, though you can replace a faulty TCM while thecontroller is online.
